Online Gambling in India is now banned
Online gambling refers to any kind of gambling which is conducted online. This includes casinos, poker and othe sesame casino betenemyr forms of betting on sports. Online ticketing services for the Liechtenstein International Horse Racing was the first gambling site online that was opened to the public in October 1994.
There were a few online gambling establishments at that at the time. They were mostly restricted to high-rollers from wealthy families. The popularity of online gambling increased because middle-class people started to be interested in gambling and started to become more wealthy. This resulted in an entirely new type of operator who were untrained within the field and had not received any training on consumer protection. A lot of these operators operated illegally and were at risk of getting into serious legal issues. Many people lost their money because the operators were not regulated.
The government has stepped up its efforts to regulate gambling online within India. Recently, the Supreme Court of India made a ruling in favor the government and directed all casinos that are licensed by the state to offer Internet access for all its players. Following this ruling, all casinos that are licensed by the state of India began shutting down. In order to accommodate the increased number of players, a lot new gambling websites were opened in India. These sites provided better bonuses, more appealing odds and were more reliable than the illegal casinos of the past.
Today there are over 200 gambling websites in India. A lot of these operators have expanded into other countries, including Russia, the United Kingdom and even offshore jurisdictions such as Panama and Barbados. While the high-rollers of the past are still drawn to the colorful online casinos there are more middle-class gamblers who have joined the fold in recent years. There is no doubt that the increased availability of online gambling has brought with it an increase in the number of crimes related to gambling in India. The issue is that a lot of gamblers in India are unaware of the possibility of being a victimized by organized crime groups operating from these casinos on the internet.
Most of the casinos that operate online in India will claim that they follow an “look-alike” system to avoid being branded an illegal enterprise. But, there are a lot of organized and syndicated operated criminals who will make use of this “look-alike” method to conceal their crimes. Anyone who is unaware of the “lookalike” method is likely to be victim to one of these criminals. Numerous governments across the globe have taken strong steps to limit online gambling. India is no exception to this principle. To legally operate all licensed online gaming operators operating in India have to sign up with the government.
This registration process was originally used as a method to protect gamblers from being targeted by organized crime rings and as a way to stop a lot of people from being harmed by online bodog live casino gambling addicts. After the registrations were implemented however authorities realized they had made a mistake. The government reinstated the restriction and has now banned all online gambling in the country. The ban has effectively restricted the number of gamblers who could gamble online. Most of the most well-known Indian internet gambling sites have revamped their casinos on the internet to prevent black-marketing.
There are a variety of reasons for why India prohibited online casinos. Among these reasons are the risks of gambling online, the existence of “fake” or untrustworthy operators in the industry and the presence of a number of international criminals among those who are “licensed” operators. These factors have led to a gradual rise in the cost of online gambling in India. A lot of people are unable or unwilling to pay for games, which has resulted in many gambling websites being closed. The ban on online gambling has made land-based casinos obsolete for those wanting to gamble at home.
The government is not stopping there and has ensured that online gambling remains legal. The National Lottery Plan, which is the “perfect law for online gambling” was designed to stop the abuse of the system. This law ensures only professionals are allowed to use the machines. Professionals will receive training on how to use and programme the machines, and customers will not be exposed anyone who is not skilled. This will increase the chance of being cheated and make it more difficult for gamblers to make bets.
